He moved to Arles in the south of France, where he produced some of his most famous works, including Starry Night, Sunflowers, and The Yellow House.

He voluntarily committed himself to the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, where he continued to paint prolifically.

Van Gogh moved to Auvers-sur-Oise, north of Paris, where he continued to paint until his death.
